Welcome to my website. This is my autism training and consultancy service which I started in May 2011. I hope that you find the information pages helpful. Whilst I am based in South West Scotland I am happy to undertake training courses and consultancy anywhere in the United Kingdom and abroad. About Barrie Cooper
I worked for over six years as help! family support manager for the National Autistic Society in Scotland. During that time I ran training programmes for hundreds of parents/carers of children and teenagers recently diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout Scotland. I have also run teachers' conferences, trained adult support workers, contributed to higher education courses and worked directly with parent support groups.
Prior to my employment at the National Autistic Society, I worked in Primary Education for over thirty years as teacher, headteacher and lead School Inspector.
I have a B. Ed (Hons) in Primary Education and Drama and a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism Studies.
I have both a personal and professional interest in autism as I have an adult son who is diagnosed with high functioning autism.
